Wednesday, May 30.
Just as our first day of work, my roommates, Brenda, Ishwarya, and Lucy, and I were all excited for our second day of work. It was/is cool to be able to say,
"We work at Google!" We hopped on the 8:00am shuttle, and since we live in San Jose the commute is about 30-45 minutes depending on how intense the traffic is. We got to Google around 8:30am. Perfect time for breakfast. :)
We ate breakfast at the cafe located in my building called, Big Table. It is hard to explain how good the food is! There was pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, croissants, smoothies, and all kinds of fruit including papaya, pineapple, strawberries, bananas, melon, watermelon, apples, and more! MMMMM! Some day I'll take a picture of my plate of food...

| Rachel loves croissants, so I sent this picture to her because it reminded me of her :) |
After breakfast we all retreated back to our workstations. Mari and I sit right next to each other and we spent most of the morning setting up our machines. When noon rolled around, I hopped on one of the Google bikes and headed a cafe called Root, which was kind of far.

| Google bike. Just grab one and go whenever you need to get to another place on the Google campus |
The food at Root was amazing! I think Root is a new cafe, because I don't remember it being there last year. Well after lunch, we had to go to Noogler Orientation classes: Life of an Intern, and Development Workflow. Nooglers have a bunch of classes the first couple of weeks to get them up to speed with the way things work at Google.
 |
| Got this snack in between classes. I love the label on this: "Snack Smart | Work Happy" |
Once all of our classes were over, we all walked up to Carolyn's cube to pick up our intern backpacks and T-shirts! Everyone was very excited. There were multiple colors of backpacks to choose from, and in the end I ended up with this cute teal one. I was very happy! As everyone was choosing their backpacks, I chatted with Iris, another Googler who is on the Engineering Practicum team. Fun times!

| Oooh fancy ;) |
Dinner at Charlie's, the 7:00pm shuttle back home, and then rest.
