The Ultimate Saturday

Saturday, June 2.

I love sleep! My Saturday started at 1:00pm. :P

It turns out that a bunch of Google interns chose to pursue Google Corporate Housing this summer and many live in San Jose. It also turns out that there is a group of interns that plays Ultimate Frisbee on Saturdays really close to our apartment.  I was super excited about this.  Don't know what Ultimate Frisbee is? Let me explain... The object of the game is to score points by passing the frisbee to a player in the opposing end zone (similar to football). The only difference is that players can't run with the frisbee, so in order to score/advance you have to pass it to your team. Sounds fun, right?

4:00pm.
There were about 18 interns that came to play, including EP interns: Sean, Jarvis, Kojo, Devin, Liam, Priya. Even Frank, my friend from NMSU who is working in the area, came to play. I was glad Priya went because I wasn't the only girl - some of the guys get really intense. We had a blast, and played for a couple of hours. It was a bit breezy, but the weather was PERFECT! As I was walking back to my apartment, I got a call from my aunt Cruz. She said that her and my sister, Nic, were eating at my favorite Mexican food restaurant, Andele's, and that she was eating my favorite Mexican plate: green chile enchiladas! They were totally rubbing it in! How rude... ;)

6:30pm.
After running around all afternoon, it was time to go back to the apartment, shower, and get ready to go eat dinner with other EP interns. We ended up going to this Oaxacan place in downtown San Jose (I can't remember what it was called). It was so hard to find parking! Lucy, Ishwarya, and I were the last people to get there - fail. We sat down at the end of the table and enjoyed the chips, salsa, and different kinds of mole along with Priya, Ramya, Jarvis, Sean, Liam, and 2 other Google interns. I ordered some chicken flautas that came with rice, but it was very different than the Mexican food that I am used to eating.  Jarvis kept making fun of us, but we couldn't forget to take some pictures!

There was a Safeway grocery store nearby the restaurant, so after dinner we wandered in and some people bought a few things to make cookies later. The plan was for everyone to come to our apartment to play some card game called Cards Against Humanity, which is similar to Apples to Apples. It was about 9:00pm that people started coming over, and we found that the game was a bit, um, strange. lol We all played and hung out for a while, and then everyone left around 1:00am.
