Wrapping Up Week 5

It seemed like the 5th week was really busy! The first half of the week, our team was really busy preparing for the launch of Google+ events. The second half of the week, seemed to have less work. lol

Not only did the Google+ team have presentations at IO but the Chrome team did too. My awesome roommate Brenda works on one of the Chrome teams, so they were also celebrating. Luckily, I was taking a break and chatting with Brenda in her cube when she found out that there was some sort of Chrome party going on downstairs. I'm obviously not on the Chrome team, but I tagged along anyway. As we walked down to the party, there was a group of people huddling around a bunch of boxes. Everyone was grabbing nerf guns, and apparently there was going to be a nerf gun war!
Don't mess with us! ;)
The nerf gun war was so intense! People were jumping behind trees and bushes avoiding the styrofoam bullets that cascaded the Alza campus. Brenda and I went into stealth mode and shot people left and right covering each others' back like a scene you would see in an action movie.... I'M TOTALLY KIDDING! haha Brenda and I just got our nerf guns and went back to her cube.

I also got to have lunch at Cafe Beta with Lauren! :) Lauren was an intern last year working on the CSSI program. Now she is a BOLD intern. I'm really happy that we are both back at Google and that we got to catch up!
:)
Beta has delicious food!
After IO Brenda and I went to the Crittenden campus for lunch. We went and visited Carolyn first to see if she had any lunch plans. Her lunch plans ended up being eating lunch with us, and Iris also joined us. Woo! We went to Lunchbox Cafe. I remember that there were some really good nachos. lol

In our EP class on Friday, we learned about how servers work on large scales, and why it is important. The instructor had a lot of energy and kept it really interesting. After class, we took an EP group picture since it was the first time that everyone was in one place.
We are the MTV EP 2012 <3
After our class, we had a group lunch scheduled at Beta. Not everyone made it, but it was still fun. I sat in front of Erica, Jasmine, and Beth Anne (all CMU students) and they were telling me how intense their classes are there. YIKES!
EP group lunch
Later in the afternoon there was a Google+ party. It was to congratulate the Events team and all other teams that had worked hard to produce positive results at IO. Of course there was lots of food and cake!
Yay, G+ teams!
Fridays also means EP office hours! :) Office hours were at Slice Cafe again. When I got there Carolyn, Liam, and past EP interns were there. I sat down and we chatted for a while and then Beth Anne and Kojo came. They were carrying cute little jellybean-filled Android containers. Carolyn and I were so shocked at how cute they were, so we ran to the patio on Main campus and got some for ourselves.
Mine is blue :)
If you are wondering why the Androids are filled with jellybeans, it is because at IO the Android team announced that there is a new version of Android called Jellybean!
EP office hours w/ our androids
Friday evening Brenda and I went home together since Lucy wanted to work more and Ishy was with her family. We didn't really do anything besides chat, which makes for a pretty good end to a Friday! Also we just had to take a mirror picture with our Androids. ;)
We both had to stand on a chair to take this! haha <3
Oooh... And I can't forget that I had a hangout with my cousins Mireya, Cruz, and Cindy! :) I miss those girls.
reunited!
